Seasonal / Pollen Allergies

All about Allergies

What are Allergies-

Allergies are your body’s reaction to allergens, an hypersensitive disorder of your immune system. Allergens are the particles that you body considers foreign.

Air borne pollen is the most common cause of seasonal allergies, also known as allergis Rhinitis or Hay Fever. Classified under type-1 Hypersensitive disorder.

How and Why Allergies develop–

The time your body encounter’s an allergen , your immune system starts working and releases immunuglobulin IgE – an antibody specific to specific allergens. These IgE gets attachech to the cells known as mast cells which are locted in great numbers in your surface tissues such as skin, mucous membranes of nose.

These mast cells produce Histamines . The more bosy reacts to allergens, more histamine is produced causing entire cascade of alleric symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, itchy eyes and throat .

For more sensitive persons, this will further cause airway obstruction causing Bronchitis, Asthma,or Hives.

Common allergis activators–

Pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, airborne contaminators, any medications, cleaning products, various kinds of foods.

90% of allergic responses to foods come from milk, soy. eggs, wheat[gluten], peanut, treenuts, fish and shell fish.

Every person is unique and different in what he or she reacts to depending on their susceptibility and sensitivity levels in the body.

Any person can get sensitized at any point of their life time.
